Complete a Triathlon....Check.
Did the triatlon today. It was super foggy. I was up around 5:30am, got to the race parking around 6:45. Biked 1.5 miles to the transition/race area. Got set up, waited forever, had to pee forever, swam, hit up the porta potty during T1 (who cares if it killed my transition time, I had to!), biked 12 miles, then ran and finished. Photos to come later. Came home and put stuff away and was feeling...

5K + Triathlon Tomorrow
Did the Hanover 5K today, didn’t run all out as I wanted to save energy for tomorrow’s race. I actually ran with a friend who was doing her first 5K so it was cool. I enjoyed it, I hope she did! Time was around 32 min. Finally picked up my bike! Yay. It is so much easier to ride than the Huffy I had. Well, easier to pedal…I’m still getting used to the dropped handlebar...

Waayyy behind
I’m far behind on posting my training and I’m behind on training.  I guess I could be concerned about it, but I’m not all that worried. People write about “tapering” in the week before their event. Instead of doing 5 miles they run 3 miles and so on. Just easing off.  Well I don’t taper. I just stop. Not on purpose mind you, but life seemed to have other things...

Long time, no update..
I was in New Hampshire last week with limited internet and now I’m in Wyoming on a job interview so I haven’t had a lot of opportunities to report my training progress. Wed: biked. 30 minutes. I think the distance was 6.2 miles but it’s not verified. Then did a quick 6 minute run (over to a swimming hole, jumped in to cool off, and then honme again). Thur: ran. about 3.1 miles...

Tried to Swim
Today is about the 4th day in a row of 90+ degree + high humidity weather around  here. It would have been a great day to swim no matter where. Unfortunately I don’t have a pool, so I usually use the MDC (state park) swimming pool in the next town. It was recently re-done and it’s pretty nice, and most importantly it’s free. Run
This morning I did a fit camp with Rob. Wow, it was hot. It was just me, Angela, Kevin and Rob. Then this evening I did a run. It was supposed to be 40 minutes but I did 33 minutes because I finished too quickly. I kind of ran of out places to run and was home. Plus I was super hot because I’m not used to running in this heat. Time: 33:15 Distance: 3.56

Bike Ride + Run + T-Storm
I was originally going to do my bike ride this morning before it got too hot (today was finally in the 80s, yay!), but I ended up spending the morning mostly being annoyed about my car and dumb mechanics. Swim Day + I Finally Get a Bike! (almost)
Today I had a swim training day. I did 100 yd warmup.  Then 8 x 25 drills again with some rotary breathing and working on kicking, arm movement and other stuff with about 10 seconds after every lap (I sometimes do less, sometimes more.) Then a 600 yd endurance swim where I just did 12 laps without resting. I got some rest during that by switching to breast stroke for 2 (non-consecutive) lengths....

Running
I was supposed to bike yesterday  but didn’t because it was raining, my bike sucks, and my car broke down on the way home from work. all of this combined to equal me skipping a workout. Today I did running. Distance: 3.1 miles Time: 28:28 Ran 3 minute intervals for most of it, i.e. 3 minutes at 5K pace, 3 minutes jog, 3 min 5K, 3 min jog, etc.

Swimming
I did my first official swimming workout based on the triathlong plan I’m using. 10 x 25 (yds) drills: I did different swimming drills like practicing breathing and working on strokes. 4 x 25 Sprint: Just swam as fast as I could for 4 lengths, rest 10 seconds between each one. 2 x 100 Threshold: Swim 100 yards twice at about 90%, rest 30 seconds in between. Time: 16:40

Today was a rest day for training. I did go to my usual Monday night fit class though. Lots of pushups and planks today!

Exercise
Ran for about 15 minutes doing intervals. Later I attempted to go for a bike ride. 10 minutes of hell was enough for me. The gears are still effed up. I can’t wait to get a new bike. Also went for a 25 minute walk for my mom. Who walks about 1000 mph.
