Applying for Jobs

I don’t mind all that much applying for jobs. What gets to me is filling the same information out on applications, over and over again. Why can’t companies just adopt a common application like the common college application?   Then if you have specific questions you want, add a separate form. But please stop making me fill out the same information and trying to fit international phone numbers into U.S. phone number spaces!
